Rails to trails
Opened in 1890, the railroad bridge over the Hudson river was for eighty years a major link between east and west.
Closed in 1974 after a fire, the bridge lives on today as a mile long public walkway. Orrs Mills Publishing celebrates the great bridge's rebirth.

Rail trails-A to Z
The United States once had a network of rail lines unlike any in the world. Today, many of these former rail lines are being reborn and being retied together as a vast network of walking/biking trails. When finished, what is displayed here will only be an overview of the great public walkway movement taking place across the country.
(Unless otherwise noted, all photos below are from various Rails to trails websites)
